obey the divine order

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

“Yet he (Jesus) swerved not, well knowing that to obey the divine order and trust God, saves retracing and traversing anew the path from sin to holiness.”

I see now when I do not cultivate and practice spiritual sense I am ignoring God, therefore neither trusting nor obeying Him. By allowing others to think for me and influence my decisions instead of listening to God I have had to retrace my path and undo this mistake. Mrs. Eddy warns us in Miscellaneous p. 119, “If a criminal coax the unwary man to commit a crime, our laws punish the dupe as accessory to the fact. Each individual is responsible for himself. Evil is impotent to turn the righteous man from his uprightness.”
I am grateful for the teachings at this church to keep us on the straight and narrow and discipline our thinking. The more human opinions I expose myself to the more likely I will be tempted to swerve.

“Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.” Psalms 27
