"Concerning spiritual gifts"

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

“Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant…there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit…the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.” (I Cor. 12:1, 4, 7)

The beautiful verses in Bible citation #5 (I Corinthians 12:1, 4-13) always make me think of our church and its members. God has brought each one of us to this church for a holy purpose. Each member has their special and needed place, protected by God; each has a “spiritual gift” given by God that is needed and worthwhile to His holy Cause. And though each member is unique and different, all are motivated by the same Spirit, — worthy workers for Truth. In a material world where competitiveness and rivalry is encouraged, it is wonderful to see and experience this unfoldment of good in each and every one here. “Father, where Thine own children are, I love to be.” (“Christ My Refuge,” by Mary Baker Eddy)
