Meaning of the End

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

    Matthew 24: 7, 10-14

“7. For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 10. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. 14. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”

This week’s Lesson on Unreality, coupled with these citations from Matthew gave me a new understanding about the “end time” spoken of so often by those who define this as an event, where great chaos precedes the end of the physical world. When we endure in keeping our thoughts on God refusing to acknowledge anything but his true and real, perfect, good and whole creation, the unreality of the worldly sense of being fades and we find ourselves no longer of the world, but of the Spirit, united in one Mind, our Father-Mother God. This is the real “end.”
