I am come a light into the world.

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

    John 12 : 46
“I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.”

This week a book was given to the Plainfield library titled, Life on 400 Beacon Street by Heather Vogel Fredrick. The following two quotes are from the book –

“The unceasing prayer that the Christ may be born in every heart is going out from this place daily, and in that way the work is blessing all mankind.” (Minnie Scott wrote from Chestnut Hill to friend on Christmas Day, 1908)

“On Christmas Eve, 1909, Mrs. Eddy shared another lesson with her metaphysical workers, explaining that Christmas is every day, and that it’s ‘not so much what God does for us as what He is.’ She urged the gathered group to express more ‘kind generosity and affection’ in the coming year and ‘love God more.'”(William Rathvon reminiscences)

I am deeply grateful for all unselfed work and prayers at the Plainfield church that are “going out from this place daily” so “that the Christ may be born in every heart.”
