Dominion

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

    DOMINION, noun [Latin See Dominant.]

    1. Sovereign or supreme authority; the power of governing and controlling.

    The dominion of the Most High is an everlasting dominion Daniel 4:3.

    2. Power to direct, control, use and dispose of at pleasure; right of possession and use.

    Psalm 8: What is man, that thou art mindful of him?… Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

    Gilbert Carpenter talks about dominion in chapter 62 of MARY BAKER EDDY – HER SPIRITUAL FOOTSTEPS on page 268. Handling The Weather. It is always God’s dominion for God is SUPREME. Where is this dominion under God used?
    We see this spiiritual power utilized in the three weekly Watches from the Plainfield CS Church, Independent and individual Watches done daily. These Watches drew me to the Plainfield Church when I was first introduced to the Website. They bring hope, healing and comfort to all the world. I am so happy to be part of this mission and I thank you Plainfield!
