Bless the Lord!

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

    I have really appreciated the Responsive Reading this week. I added notes from looking up the words in this psalm to make it more personal. The prayer of turning to the Lord with sincerity and deep desire to please Him. Gratitude in action.

    Responsive Reading: Psalm 103 : 1-6

    1. Bless(praise and grateful) the Lord, O my soul: and all (not half hearted but from the depth of my being) that is within me, bless his holy name.

    2. Bless the Lord(sing and be joyful), O my soul, and forget(nor neglect thy duty to Him) not all his benefits:

    3. Who forgiveth all(completely) thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

    4. Who redeemeth(rescue) thy life from destruction(corruption, decay, pit); who crowneth thee with lovingkindness(steadfast) and tender mercies;

    5. Who satisfieth(nourished) thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed(energy and strength) like the eagle’s.

    6. The Lord executeth(carry into effect) righteousness(purity, holiness, perfection) and judgment(wisdom and spiritual government) for all that are oppressed(over powered, burdened, imposed upon).
