Redemption

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

    In this week’s lesson, there are too healings, one of sin Matthew 4:24 and one of disease Matthew 9:2 . By reading Science & Health by MBE,she reveals how these healings are to be manifested, I feel, from my understanding this statement would be appropriate, THE COMPLETE ABANDONMENT OF THE UNREAL SELF!

    2 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.
    In healing “dis-ease” of any kind, Jesus is healing the sinfulness of the belief of a self apart from God. Whether animal magnetism is presenting as a physicality or in another form, what is being healed is the sinfulness of a self other than God. He told the adulterous woman too to go and sin no more….

    The image and likeness of God, the reflection of that God being is the only real selfhood, the individuality we must know ourselves and all to be.
