Hope thou in God

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

This week our responsive reading, “Hope thou in God” tied in nicely with last week’s, “My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him”. It has really made me question “where do I put my hope and what are my expectations?” As I look closely there are those that are not in God but in my personal will or trying to please others. It has become an ungodly habit that I have been working on ridding myself of. We are told to be obedient and to put our hope in God and He will best care for all our needs. What a comforting thought to trust and practice. The world is full of disappointments, which is misplaced hope and expectations. To please God I will have to disappoint others but following God is a full blessing for all I am coming to learn even if not obvious right away. I appreciate all that is done here to turn our hope and expectations to God where they belong.
