No power opposed to God

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

    5. 192 : 19-21, 23-26
In Science, you can have no power opposed to God, and the physical senses must give up their false testimony. …The good you do and embody gives you the only power obtainable. Evil is not power. It is a mockery of strength, which erelong betrays its weakness and falls, never to rise.

While doing a watch one evening and reading THE NEW BIRTH in Miscellaneous Writhing p. 15. In the second paragraph Mrs. Eddy says,” The new birth is not the work of a moment. It begins with moments, and goes on with years; moments of surrender to God, of childlike trust and joyful adoption of good…..” This has helped me a great deal with giving up the false testimony of the physical senses. I sometimes get impatient with my spiritual progress but it is such a comfort when Mrs. Eddy says further on, ” ..the gradual fading out of the mortal and material sense of man, thought is developed into an infant Christianity……” . What wonderful encouragement from our Leader.
