Belief in a material basis…

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

    Belief in a material basis, from which may be deduced all rationality, is slowly yielding to the idea of a metaphysical basis, looking away from matter to Mind as the cause of every effect.

    During Thursday’s Unity Watch, I was thinking about how the opposite of “line upon line, precept upon precept” is “lie upon lie, belief upon belief.” Eventually, when you believe enough in a material basis, you will realize it makes no sense. At that point many become very lost — I know I did. I am so grateful for Christian Science for showing what the true basis of life is and for this church for working to bring that truth to all. No need to feel lost, or alone, or undeserving of Love. We are all inseparable from God, Life, Love, Truth. What a joy to be able to know and prove this! Thank you!

    Let us rejoice that divine Being, the only Being – our Being – ….. is beyond depletion or impairment. It remains infinite and perfect, irrespective of all that claims to be happening in so-called mortal existence. Material conditions, “be the fable pro or con,” are of no account.
    The dignity of divine Allness is beyond the influence of human policy, human ways and means.
    The restricting, barren misconceptions of the mortal view hide the glories of divine Life, – the effortless, spontaneous welling up, from within of all that means divine completeness, bliss and heaven.
    “the water that the Christ shall give you shall be in you a well of water SPRINGING UP into everlasting Life.”
