No schism in the body

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

No schism means no breach of charity. Man being a compound idea, our mentality is comprised of many simpler ideas that do not compete with each other, but rather cooperate in loving unity, so there is no schism or breach of charity. When this happens, there is harmony, health, prosperity. In the parable in the lesson, the two servants that had prosperity, although not enamored with the nobleman master, must have felt a sense of love for the opportunity to have one pound to work with. A correct recognition of who they were working for, a sense of good and not a personality, therefore there was no schism or breach of charity. Whereas the third servant who allowed hate and fear to predominate, interesting how hate and fear go together, allowed the schism to exist and could not prosper. A good lesson for us to remember who we work for and keep the keep the loving unity vital. No schism in the body.

This topic caught my attention too. Nothing should be more important in what we are doing here than our love for the one purpose that unites us here. It demands our love and respect for each other and each others’ work as members of the one body (the whole) working for God. Differences in opinions should be guarded not to mar why we are here.
