Yield (me!)

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

Citation 7 from S&H: Every function of the real man is governed by the divine Mind. The human mind has no power to kill or to cure, and it has no control over God’s man. The divine Mind that made man maintains His own image and likeness. … All that really exists is the divine Mind and its idea, and in this Mind the entire being is found harmonious and eternal. The straight and narrow way is to see and acknowledge this fact, YIELD TO THIS POWER, and follow the leadings of truth.

I’ve had success stating “Thy will be done.” Acknowledging this fact has been extremely helpful when I remember to do this. With the emphasis in this lesson on ‘dominion,’ “yield to this power” really hit me today. Do I really yield to this power? I haven’t but will now strive to do so and will surely experience better results:)

Thank you for this beautiful lesson; God and His scribe!!!

This citation stood out to me also. Part of the beginning states that: Fear never stopped being and its action. The blood, heart, lungs, brain, etc., have nothing to do with Life, God. SH p. 151. This is a resounding reminder! The point that God is LIFE, and from the synonyms of God we are taught that SPIRIT is God should make me start, if I have not, and continue in humility and obedience yielding to the power of this TRUTH. If consistently, persisting I will gradually come to know my life in Life/Spirit just as I learned the multiplication tables.

This spiritual fact is repeated many times in this process so we can heed its importance. When I wasn’t declaring, claiming my right mind, The Christ Mind and not staying alert to resist the false thoughts this sounded so confusing, difficult, even impossible according to the false temptations. Thank God we are also shown how to walk this walk, humbly following the footsteps of Truth.
