"the Word was made flesh"

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

Webster (1828 Dictionary) defines “behold” as “to fix the eyes upon; to see with attention; to observe with care.”
As Christian Scientists, it is imperative for us to behold (recognize and acknowledge) Mary Baker Eddy in this same way as we behold Jesus.
And the Word (Divine Science) was made flesh (in human form as Mary Baker Eddy) and dwelt among us (her life was Christian Science, a complete demonstration and proof of Divine Science in all the minutia of life), and we behold her glory (the indisputable records of her teaching and healings that was not personal but came solely from God), the glory of the only begotten of the Mother (the embodiment of the Motherhood of God – Divine Love), full of grace and truth (eternal life and salvation).
