Reply To: Ye ask, and receive not

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

Thank you, Bruce. I have found that trusting God with my desires is infinitely more effective than trying to self-will my way through life. Because that’s a recipe for disaster!

“Thoughts unspoken are not unknown to the divine Mind. Desire is prayer; and no loss can occur from trusting God with our desires, that they may be moulded and exalted before they take form in words and in deeds.” S&H, page 1

It’s actually far more restful to contemplate and lean on God…than to try and figure out how I’m going to do whatever needs to be done. When I realize I’m not doing anything because all power lies with God and all I have to do is listen for His guidance, then things will progress… things get done… time is saved not doing things I shouldn’t be doing! And then I can see that things always worked out better than I could have imagined.
