Reply To: Psalm 23

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

S&H 578:10 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of
death, I will fear no evil: for [LOVE] is with me; [LOVE’S]
rod and [LOVE’S] staff they comfort me.

When I posted the first, previous statement I had only studied Mary Baker Eddy’s interpretation of Psalm 23 which in her words “In the following Psalm one word shows, though faintly, the light which Christian Science throws on the Scriptures by substituting for the corporeal sense, the incorporeal or spiritual sense of Deity: — PSALM XXIII” because I felt there can be no better explanation of it. Afterwards I spent quite a bit of time looking for additional ideas in commentaries etc. and found only rather dark comments on this verse which once again proves that Mary Baker Eddy and Christ Jesus are to be the final authorities when it comes to interpreting the Bible!

God’s Truth truly annihilates false beliefs thus gives comfort:)
