The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

Matthew Henry wrote the following:

Mountains and hills are, before God, but like rams and lambs; even the bulkiest and the most rocky are as manageable by him as they are by the shepherd. The trembling of the mountains before the Lord may shame the stupidity and obduracy of the children of men, who are not moved at the discoveries of his glory.

From the 1828 Webster’s:

Obduracy
Invincible hardness of heart; impenitence that cannot be subdued; inflexible persistency in sin; obstinacy in wickedness.

Christ Jesus from Mark 11:23:

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

I feel all this points to the reminder that God’s creation – the only creation – is spiritual, and not material. There is no one-hundred-million-ton, eight-thousand-foot-tall obstacle between me and the path God set before me, whether it is a mountain or my own issues I have struggled with. Christian Science provides the God-given means forward. With all I have been learning here, and practitioner support, I’ve already been proving that to myself with a few “hills” in my consciousness, so the larger mountains of my former obduracy are feeling more movable each day.

Thank you!
