A blessing – The Book of Revelation

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

What a fantastic bible study on the book of Revelation! Thank you so much Tom for your research, planning and sharing of your thinking …. and the Irving Tomlinson book! Thankyou to all at Plainfield! That the book of Revelation is a blessing, and that Apoca means “something hidden”. These ideas are both in themselves immense revelations to me! Thankyou so much! Here we are shown yet again the way to strive and enter the Kingdom – our “grand necessity of existence” as Mrs Eddy wrote. Thankyou for the affirmation of the silent contemplation and meditation of our Lord. This quiet contemplation of The Father has become a velvet silence to my sense – as textured, comforting and protecting as the most beautiful robe. Mrs Eddy wrote “The robes of Spirit are ‘white and glistering,’ like the raiment of Christ”, how beautiful!

In the silence of His thinking, shutting the door of the human world and opening thought to the grand congregation of our Lord, the Trumpet call is indeed jubilant and triumphant, and is an absolute and unmistakable clarion call of Truth; bringing us all home “The “still, small voice” of scientific thought reaches over continent and ocean to the globe’s remotest bound. The inaudible voice of Truth is, to the human mind, “as when a lion roareth.” as Mrs Eddy wrote. How true that is! And we can’t mistake that call for anything else, as it causes the heart to burn within, touching ones Soul in a unique and sublime way, that cannot be denied. Tom’s idea of “hopelessness to hope and to healing”, is so inspired! Thankyou! We are grateful for any supposed “hopelessness” of our human situation because by it; the miracle of the Comforter so overcomes human experience that nothing can be more important than Gods beautiful, unstoppable and unending Love and protection! We live the Truth when human hopelessness is overcome in just this way. And we never forget it because in applying the Truth to our human situation we are combining “theory” and “practical application”; thus, we are living and witnessing an experience of Truth correcting error. A “miracle”. This experience becomes a Life lesson attained; and so we go up further in Grace. I am so grateful for Gods Love, kindness and goodness; for His care, His strength and intelligence and all the opportunity that He provides to lift us out of mortal thinking; above and over all human experiences to manifest the Divine Substance of which the entire universe is composed. That we may hear the Trumpet call of Truth and safely walk in the only road to God “the road that has no turning”, as a favourite hymn says. The Divine Love and protection which so enwraps us and is constantly and always “underlying, overlying, and encompassing all true being” as Mrs Eddy wrote. Thankyou for such a perfect lesson on the book of Revelation! I can’t wait to study this book closely in the coming studies with you all! And Karen we are very fondly looking forward to your article on “the voice as a trumpet” 😊 😊 Lots of love to you, our dear friends in Plainfield from us here in Australia as always! Shoulder to Shoulder!
