A New Heaven and A New Earth

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

Thank you for this wonderful Bible lesson. I’ve learned so much this week by digging deeper. Mrs. Eddy’s chapter on The Apocalypse has brought much comfort during times of intense so-called suffering. With a grateful heart, I’m understanding more and more that each trial comes to bless. “When it ceases to bless it ceases to be.” Simply she states that “the sum total of human misery, represented by the 7 angelic vials full of 7 plagues, has full compensation in the law of Love.”

What a powerful prescription, but then Mrs. Eddy goes on personalizing the teaching.

574:15 Note this,–that the very message, or swift-winged thought, which poured forth hatred and torment, brought also the experience which at last lifted the seer to behold the great city…”

574:25 “Think of this, dear reader, for it will lift the sackcloth from your eyes, and you will behold the soft winged dove descending upon you. The very circumstance, which your suffering sense deems wrathful and afflictive, Love can make an angel entertained unawares. Then thought gently whispers:

575:2 “Come, hither! Arise from your false consciousness into the true sense of Love, and behold the Lamb’s wife, –Love wedded to its own spiritual idea.”

What joy comes when I still my mind in the midst of trials, and rest in this loving Truth.

Thanks again for a powerful, timely lesson.
