A Very Present Help

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

It helps to understand Philippians 2:5 as “Let this mood be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.”

“[Y]ou are a free moral agent, to reject or to accept . . . error; hence, you are the arbiter of your own fate.” {Mrs. Eddy, “Questions Answered,” CSJ, October, 1887)

“This is an age in which the mood decides the fortunes of people rather than the fortunes decide the mood.” (Sir Winston Churchill)

Sir Winston was a master in the art of self-encouragement, activating the law of cause and effect in the most constructive ways possible, virtually at all times.

Churchill regarded Hitler just as David regarded Goliath.

David’s mood of victory preceded his confrontation with Goliath. Before setting foot on the field of battle, David had dwelt only on the desired result, as stated in Mark 11:24 – “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Likewise, Churchill’s sustained mood of victory over Hitler precipitated an unstoppable progression of events that led to Hitler’s ultimate downfall. It was Churchill’s insistence on maintaining the mood of the solution to the problem of Hitler that led to Hitler’s permanent absence.
