Thankyou so very much Thomas, for preparing this extremely important Bible study! Thankyou to all who spoke and contributed to this lesson! Bruce’s loving and insightful comments on Love! Love opens the door so that we may know and recognise the Truth of the Christ. How true this is! My dear teacher always taught me that Love is the entry point for Divine Mind. We cannot cognise God without first loving Him. This is why the first commandment is so important; we cannot pierce the veil of mortal belief and gain the Truth of our existence without first loving God in all that we think and do. Love is the starting point, the trumpet call that touches the soul with “joy unspeakable”. Love and Christian Science are one. But Love does not mean being accepting of evil. To “cast out devils (evils)” is part of our duty. Heathen practices and anything that is unlike Love must be cast out. We must pay attention to all that our Leader wrote for us. This is how we prove the Truth of the Christ and stand forever firm in the Christ, totally strong, unfettered, free and safe in the Christ – where nothing unlike Love can come.
My hope is that all Christian Scientists would listen to this bible study and look to all that Plainfield Independent is doing! Hear the wisdom that is shared by Mary, by Gary, by Florence, by Bruce, by Thomas, and by all the members of the congregation.
Special note from 34-minute mark: as read by Mary the directions by Mrs Eddy that all branch churches should be “distinctly democratic in government”, followed by Gary’s wise comments and the comments of others regarding this point. Take note. It is highly important to understand all that Mrs Eddy wrote, including the definition she gave on how Church branches should be run. Christian Science is the Science of the DIVINE; it can never be owned by any human administration. I will say that through the administration; the legitimate movement of Christian Science has been sown with seeds of superstition and fear; which are heathen practices. Our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, did not set up a heathen, personality-driven belief system – a “beast”. Our dear Leader, through Divine Inspiration alone opened the door to our Divine Self-hood; and she did so for all mankind; throughout all time. Nothing can stop this Truth. Truth is the victor. Love stands immovable. Christian Science is the Truth – the legitimate Science of all that exists – the Divine Science that is key to our eternal being. Not personality politics but the Absolute Truth of God Almighty. Serious stuff!
With ever gratitude to the efforts of Plainfield Independent who have kept the purity and power of Christian Science in Mrs Eddy’s textbook, Church Manual and other writings; as well as salvaging and restoring the writings of our early workers, which are all our rich heritage. The Truth is revealed so that we may practice the Christ Science for ourselves, each doing our own work. We do not need a human so-called “administration” to practice Christian Science. It belongs to God. We need only pure teachers and Practitioners who are true to our Leader to show us the way; as our dear Practitioners in Plainfield are doing. Christian Science operates through Gods Power to cast out devils, heal the sick and sinning. It is God’s Law in operation, not human “administration”. Healings are the immortal fruits that always occur through the legitimate action of Christian Science as articulated by Mrs Eddy. Any thing; any practice or belief that does not bear these fruits is not Christian Science. Any thing that comes that is not Love, any thing that comes that is fearful or superstitious is heathen; and not Christian Science. This is what is meant by “signs following”. The signs of casting out evils, healing the sick and the sinning are the signposts to determine whether we are following the instructions of God or not. We can always recognise when Christian Science is operating; because it is the most sublime Love and strength and joy, and blessings that you could not outline flow ever into your experience. Blessings for all around you; not just for yourself. A legitimate Christian Science Practitioner, such as those at Plainfield Independent, facilitates blessings for all concerned. Divine Love blesses ALL. Christian Science gives us Love, Truth, Life, strength, joy and peace; because it is our Father speaking to us; it is God “knowing His own”. It is the presence of our Lord and of His Christ. Nothing heathen or superstitious about it. Only LOVE. The Love and Healing that is poured forth by Plainfield Independent is legitimate Christian Science in operation with “signs following”. So that ALL may see and know!
