“Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.” Psalm 51 : 1
Webster’s 1828
Blot: To efface; to erase; to cause to be unseen, or forgotten; to destroy; as, to blot out a crime, or the remembrance of any thing.
“Students love to contemplate the great goodness of God, but are not so willing to dip down into the uncovering of the hidden modes of evil, a thing that must be done if man desires to find his spiritual freedom. They would like to be translated now, without first having to fulfill the obligation of uncovering error’s hidden ways.” Chapter 49 from Mary Baker Eddy Her Spiritual Footsteps by Carpenter
I am grateful to be learning at Plainfield how to heal sin after many years of miseducation regarding what sin is and how to remove it from our lives. With Plainfield practitioner support I am learning that I need the sword of Truth to stand up to sin and destroy it. For so many years I wanted to just be comforted and to feel peace and often sought out quotes for that purpose but in doing this I was self deceived into thinking I was doing something while I was just avoiding and ignoring the problems facing me. This is one of the dangers of a New Age approach because it does not uncover sin nor destroy it. Having gone down that path I now am having to retrace my steps and correct everything with Christ’s Christianity which is based on the Bible and Mary Baker Eddy’s writings. A speaker at our last Roundtable, in response to the desire to find this false sense of peace, stated that peace is only found in doing God’s will! I am so grateful for while this is not an easy process it is the only answer.
