Death Is Not a Stepping Stone

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

SH 203 Death is not a stepping-stone to Life, immortality, and bliss.

God, divine good, does not kill a man in order to give him eternal Life, for God alone is man’s life. God is at once the centre and circumference of being. It is evil that dies; good dies not.

This means a great deal to me! Somewhere along the way in life I thought that death was an escape from this material world….boy was I wrong! The true Science that I have been learning here at Plainfield has changed so much of my old thinking and beliefs. As reflection , the image of God, at-one-ment, having the Mind of Christ, never alone, daughter of the King, and never fear except to offend God, and so much more, all lead to understand our eternal life (Life) in God.

I’m so grateful for Christian Science and it’s true teachings.

My mother passed on 25 years prior to me coming to giving Science a try. I understood nothing about life or death and botched the whole experience from even a material point of view!! Gratefully Mrs. Eddy’s explications and sharing of her experience changed my whole understanding. I realized my mother did all, laid down her life in material view for her three children, and through all times sacrificed for our happiness so why would she want us sad after she ‘passed?’ I also understand that I conduct my life daily following precepts that she lived as an example, so we’re never separated even if I would try to be!!

I’m so overwhelmed with gratitude for those in this Plainfield Christian Science Church Independent that have ‘experienced passing and stayed’ in this conscious state and so willingly and graciously and candidly share their experience with the rest of us. What they say is so in ‘tune’ with the teachings of Christ Jesus and Mary Baker Eddy that they serve to build upon each others as proof of God’s Law of Eternal Life:)
