Each day I pray

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

“I exhort therefore, that first of all, supplications, prayer, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men: For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet life and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour.” (I Timothy) This verse goes hand in hand with something I love from Miscellany by Mary Baker Eddy on page 220 – “Each day I pray for the pacification of all national difficulties, for the brotherhood of man, for the end of idolatry and infidelity, and for the growth and establishment of Christian religion – Christ’s Christianity. I also have faith that my prayer availeth, and that He who is overturning will overturn until He whose right it is shall reign. Each day I pray: ‘God bless my enemies; make them Thy friends; give them to know the joy and the peace of love.’” What a beautiful and all-encompassing prayer. I have a copy of it on my desk to remind myself to keep it in my heart and to pray this prayer each day.
