“The Bible contains the recipe for all healing. ‘The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.’ Sin and sickness are both healed by the same Principle. The tree is typical of man’s divine Principle, which is equal to every emergency, offering full salvation from sin, sickness, and death.” (SH 406:1-6.)
Ezekiel 47:12 – “And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.”
Revelation 22:2 – “In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.”
The material world handles emergencies by supplying material shelter, clothing, food, medicine; Christian Science continually turns me to Christ’s Sermon on the Mount to explain how all such needs are added to me as I seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness first, above all (Matthew 6:33). And all of these necessities have their spiritual counterparts, for example:
Shelter – we are “clothed upon with our house which is in heaven” (2 Corinthians 5:2).
Clothing – “The Robe of Science”- paragraph heading of SH 569:6-17.
Food – the fruit of the tree of life in limitless supply (Rev. 22:2, Ezekiel 47:12).
Medicine – the leaves of the tree of life in limitless supply (Rev. 22:2, Ezekiel 47:12).
“Bless the Lord, O my soul and forget not all His benefits!” (Psalm 103:2.)
