God's gift of eternal life

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

    “The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”(Romans 6:23)

    Gift…The act of giving or conferring. The right or power of giving or bestowing. Power; faculty; some quality or endowment conferred by the author of our nature. (Websters 1828)

    Eternal..Without beginning or ending. Perpetual; ceaseless; continued without intermission, unchangeable.(Websters 1828)

    Unlike giving a gift as one person gives to another and receives a thank you, God’s gift of eternal life, without beginning or ending is a perpetual; ceaseless; changeless gift just as Life itself. So as one gives gratitude for a gift given we must be as grateful, perpetually, ceaselessly. Our gratitude is best shown by honoring the giver, the one God, by obedience and knowing that God is the only Life. Also by obeying the example of the way-shower, Christ Jesus and acknowledging his example as the The Way to eternal life.
