Governed by God

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

    “Every function of the real man is governed by the divine Mind.” Science and Health

    When I first read this I thought every action of my body is governed by God. That put a limit on what God could do so I looked up in the 1928 Webster dictionary the word function which said, In a general sense, the doing, executing or performing of any thing; discharge; performance.
    Now I understand it to mean not only that my body functions correctly, but the performing of any thing – my business duties, cooking, cleaning, etc. are governed by God and I must obediently listen to Him.

    At a Roundtable a practitioner said, “Christian Science goes into every part of your life.”

    With God there are no limits, all is infinite good.

    Thank God for Christian Science.

    Thinking this way takes the false sense of responsibility away, establishing the Truth of God’s supremacy that gives us peace!
