Hides the divine possibilites

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

“When first spoken in any age, Truth, like the light, ‘shineth in darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not.’ A false sense of life, substance, and mind hides the divine possibilities, and conceals scientific demonstration.” (S&H) The sun is always shining even when the clouds obscure our vision of it. So it is with God – His Love for His creation is always pouring forth to bless all. It is only our misconceptions about Him, our false beliefs about what really constitutes our true being that shuts our eyes to these blessings. Thank God for Mrs. Eddy and for Christian Science which opens the blinded eye so we may behold “the way, the truth and the life” as shown to us by Christ Jesus. The divine possibilities are always present – don’t let error keep you from seeing what is right before you!

I’m thankful for our most recent roundtable discussion about the importance of looking. It was pointed out, the many times that we are instructed in the bible to ‘behold’ and this is something that has been a great blessing to me in most recent years. I am now understanding that the healing I experience all come about through the realization of ever-present truth. What’s required of me, is, not to merely ask for an answer, healing, blessing, etc. but to look to God, with unyielding patience and an open heart, in order for what is right to be revealed to me. We’ve been instructed that “truth comes when needed” so when I am in need and I feel I am not finding an answer, I must be sure that I am looking, and looking in the right direction, if so, there is no evil suggestion to keep me from seeing what I need to see!

One attribute of ‘looking’ is to have ones eyes open. When one ‘looks’ in the right direction one must also do so with ‘open’ eyes and an ‘open heart’ or we miss what we are supposed to see. I’m grateful to be learning here how to ‘open’ my eyes to use spiritual sense because otherwise I miss what God is trying to tell me!!
