Responsive Reading: Isaiah 41
10. Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Mary Singleterry spoke this week about what Martha Wilcox says on page 388 of Addresses: “…in Christian Science, we understand that God made man, and gave him presence, and certainty, and position, and man does not desire to get from somebody or some other nation, but draws from Infinity.”
This week I found the following on page 59 of the Addenda of Collectanea by Mary Baker Eddy:
“Mrs. Eddy told Miss Robertson that animal magnetism can always be detected in thought by (1) a confusion. (2) forgetting. (3) refusal to do one’s duty. (4) moral illness. The declaration of one Mind — and no power or presence beside God will destroy these effects. Mind is all action.”
I have been thinking how to be in the presence of Truth and Life is to be absent from confusion; and to have the certainty of divine Mind, Soul, is to always have the inspiration, revelations, and ideas needed to be God’s expression; to cheerfully be positioned by Principle, Love, is to gratefully do our “duty to God, to [our] Leader, and to mankind.” (Alertness to Duty); and finally, to be obedient to Spirit is to understand that “…it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom” (S&H, p. 442) and error’s false promises of all it says it will give you — as Christ Jesus overcame in Craig’s Wednesday March 2nd, 2022 readings — will have no effect if we stand fast in the Word of God and know that He “will uphold [us] with the right hand of [His] righteousness.”
I am so thankful for all that is taught here! Thank you!
