Illumination of the spiritual sense

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

    “Only by the illumination of the spiritual sense, can the light of understanding be thrown upon this Science, because Science reverses the evidence before the material senses and furnishes the eternal interpretation of God and man.” (S&H) Once again Mrs. Eddy brings out the importance of cultivating spiritual sense – which is the ability to see and hear and feel God’s presence. It is a God-given ability but can be easily overrided by the aggressive testimony of the material senses if not watched against. Take time often to “Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalms) Listen to what that inner voice is telling you. Study the Bible and our textbook. You will find your spiritual sense being illuminated – growing stronger and clearer as you value and cherish its unerring direction.
