John 14:10

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

« The Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the work » This quote from John’s reminds me that by my own self-will and human work, (it doesn’t matter how hard I work or try to bring about a healing) it is God that does the work. Prior religious teaching promoted the belief that by repeating certain prayers or words, we could gain or obtain whatever was it that we wanted or needed.
To be humbled to admit that we really can’t change or know what God’s Will for us is has been a challenge for me. To admit that God is not a punishing God but a Good God has also been a challenge. Particularly during this Easter season, the religious emphasis is on death and punishment, not on Jesus final triumph over death. I’m very grateful to Mrs Eddy that showed us a different way to approach our Father/Mother God, not as sinful sinners but as rightful heirs with Christ. I’m very grateful for this Bible Lesson and for this Church
