"Keep thy heart"

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

“Keep thy heart with all diligence;” Proverbs 4:23

Strong’s Hebrew 5341: To watch, guard, keep

Bible study tools refer to the heart as: the mind, character, will, feelings, intention, and desire

The breastplate (righteousness, holiness) shields the heart (Eph. 6: 14) from the darts of the devil … I can guard my heart by using what I have learned here based on clear and correct teachings of the Bible and Mary Baker Eddy’s writings.

Some examples: watch thought, continually express gratitude, find ways to be active in working for God, examine my motives, listen to rebukes or correction, don’t take offense, sing hymns, don’t indulge in negative thinking, keep a statement of Truth with me to use during day, look for and see God everywhere, stand for right, talk with God, pray for others.

What a blessing to be part of an active healing church that helps us be who God made us to be!
