Led by wisdom and wisdom bade him.

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

“And the Lord said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:” Exodus 4

“When, led by wisdom to cast down his rod, he saw it become a serpent, Moses fled before it; but wisdom bade him come back and handle the serpent, and then Moses’ fear departed.” Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy, page 321

“Bid (bade) To invite; to command; to order or direct.” – 1828 Webster’s Dictionary

When I was reading the Bible portion of the Lesson about Moses I thought I had read “fear not” but the words were not there specifically but the power of the message to “fear not” was there and as Mrs. Eddy explains Moses found this out as he followed God’s direction. So whatever God is asking me to do also includes “Be not afraid I am with thee.”
