Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

    11 Kings 6:17 And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.(Emphasis added)

    We should all be praying this prayer for ourselves and our world so that we may reflect the Divine vision , which alone can reveal to us YOUR TRUTH, which alone is REAL! Like the young man with Elisha many are gripped with so much fear of one thing or other. Blinded by the foolishness of human opinion we deal treacherously with each other, swayed by the lies of mortal sense we are influenced by hatred, selfishness, injustice,greed etc. Mesmerized by animal magnetism we accept the suggestions, temptations of sin, sickness and death.

    We are all praying this, that we may be imbued with the “fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance” to gain the vision clear that we may see your Present Power, Glory and Light to lead us out of this bondage of false sense! Lord open our eyes that we may see!
