Love is the answer

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

    I so appreciate our Lesson Sermons! In the June 1, 2025 Lesson on ANCIENT AND MODERN NECROMANCY, ALIAS MESMERISM AND HYPNOTISM, DENOUNCED, a statement from the last citation (267:25-32), jumped out at me! In part it says, “Blessed is the man that endureth [overcometh] temptation: for when he is tried, [proved faithful], he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.” (James i. 12.)

    How important this love is! It made me think of the time, when Mrs. Eddy was still with us, and the practitioners in Chicago weren’t being successful in healing, and asked Mrs. Eddy what to do. She said, “you have to learn to love me more.” Just as our overcoming and being proved faithful — seeing God as All-in-all and loving Him, is rewarded; just so when we see and acknowledge Mary Baker Eddy’s Revelation and her place, are we rewarded in seeing and demonstrating the Truth.

    Mrs. Eddy wrote in Miscellaneous Writings (105:20-23):

    “Christian Science is my only ideal; and the individual and his ideal can never be severed. If either is misunderstood or maligned, it eclipses the other with the shadow cast by this error.”

    This was proven true when the Chicago practitioners seemed to lose their ability to heal, and then regained it after receiving Mrs. Eddy’s answer!
