Maketh the Lord his trust.

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

“Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust.” Psalm 40 : 4

“Trust: Confidence; a reliance or resting of the mind on the integrity, veracity, justice, friendship or other sound principle of another person.” 1828 Webster’s Dictionary

During the Roundtable this last Sunday one of the definitions of hard heartedness was given which was, “not willing to let go of beliefs.” I am very grateful for these classes that are meant to keep us progressing in this Science of the Christ as Mrs. Eddy intended.

We were also instructed to keep God foremost in thought and that peace comes in having a deep relationship with God. Elisha had this peace, trust, and relationship with God. He was able to see God working and to help his servant see also, “… they that be with us are more than they that be with them. …the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.” (II Kings 6)

The servant’s heart was receptive to Elisha and he was blessed to be able to see evidence of God’s allness and protection.
