Matter can make no opposition to right endeavors

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

If you believe in and practise wrong knowingly, you can at once change your course and do right. Matter can make no opposition to right endeavors against sin or sickness, for matter is inert, mindless.

What a great promise these lines are! It reminds me of Jesus’ statement, from Matthew 11:30, “For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Before coming to Plainfield, I had this constant feeling that I was being ripped apart. Christian Science is showing me that our natural state is being the expression of God, so it makes perfect sense that I felt that way — by denying God I was denying my own reality and purpose.

Now, however, I can see that “Matter can make no opposition to right endeavors” because as I learn and live this Science — with plenty of practitioner support! — each step toward God is infinitely easier than every step I took away from Him.

I am so grateful for our good God that allowed me to “change [my] course and do right,” and for all this church offers. Thank you!
