Matter = wrong thought, mistaken sense

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

    This Rule is Basic.

    Matter is a wrong thought.
    Matter is a mental state.
    Matter is a misstatement about some thought form; about a right thing.
    When I see matter, I see a right thing in the wrong way.
    Matter is an illusion in my mind.
    When I exclude matter, I exclude from my thinking my mistaken sense about body and things.”

    “The rule and its perfection of operation never vary in Science. If you fail to succeed in any case, it is because you have not demonstrated the life of Christ, Truth, more in your own life, – because you have not obeyed the rule and proved the Principle of divine Science (S & H, p. 149:11).

    “Divine Science, rising above physical theories, excludes matter, resolved things into thoughts, and replaces the objects of material sense with spiritual ideas” (S & H, p. 123:12).
