Mental Habits

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

I am working on changing my mental habit from one of accepting erroneous thoughts to admitting only such conclusions as I wish realized in my body and surrounding circumstances. My practitioner pointed out my bad habit of thinking. I never thought about “gnawing” and ruminating on wrong thoughts as a bad habit. Once identified in this manner, it seemed possible to change the habit. During our last Roundtable, another participant talked about her habit of thinking, as a positive habit. I smiled when I heard this and said, I want that habit!!!!

This morning, my thoughts went to the fact that God created man for His purposes and in His image and likeness. Man therefore is full with God’s good and there is no room for even the smallest amount of anything unlike God; pain, disease, irritation, confusion, unhappiness, lack. I want to constantly be this child of God, knowing that God controls every aspect of my life and the life of all!!
