No lapse from perfection

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

In our lesson this week these passages from our textbook stood out to me as some of my favorites, “God is the creator of man, and, the divine Principle of man remaining perfect, the divine idea or reflection, man, remains perfect. Man is the expression of God’s being. If there ever was a moment when man did not express the divine perfection, then there was moment when man did not express God, and consequently a time when Deity was unexpressed-that is, without entity.” “The relations of God and man, divine Principle and idea, are indestructible in Science; and Science knows no lapse from nor return to harmony, but holds the divine order or spiritual law, in which God and all that He creates are perfect and eternal, to have remained unchanged in its eternal harmony.”

lapse–a slight deviation from truth or rectitude. (Websters 1828 dictionary)

These passages remind me that it is inconceivable, unthinkable and therefore impossible for there to ever be a moment when man can deviate from his divine Principle, God, who holds man unchanged in its eternal harmony. Thank you lesson writers for this wonderful lesson.

Am I holding to this spiritual fact of unchanging perfection, as the Truth about me consistently?
What a valuable, unceasing healing prayer!
