The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

“Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk.”

Jesus tells us, “fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” This statement had a new meaning to me after reading the lesson this week.
I see Jesus was helping us protect our thought when facing opposition.

In order to be obedient to his commands to “love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind” and “love thy neighbor as thyself” I need to watch my thinking and keep it aligned with God. When I react in anger, hate, stand aghast, fear or self pity, I am allowing the opposition to make me feel separated from God which makes my work for God seem ineffective. Then I have allowed it to rob my working thought.

“Whatever holds human thought in line with unselfed love, receives directly the divine power.”(Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy) We are told to bleed sweetly. I now see how important it is to get self out of the way. What a powerful lesson. Thank you
