I felt very strongly that I could not let Gary Singleterry’s reading and his sincere testimony from the Wednesday, October 23rd, 2019 Testimony Meeting go by without expressing my personal gratitude to him for both.
His readings left no doubt in anyone’s thought of the vital and immediate need for powerful work on the part of every sincere and devoted Christian Scientist to work for the complete destruction of evil which seems to be working overtime in our country and it’s government and throughout the world. It is not a time to be fearful and stick your head in the sand, it is a time to roll up your sleeves and get busy focusing on the Truth and the nothingness of error, understanding what it is, what it is trying to do and making sure it does not do it; Mrs. Eddy forewarned us all of the importance of handling animal magnetism. The answer is not to sweep it under the carpet and hope it would and will go away. Mr. Singleterry’s readings provided us with what is needed to help with this powerful work.
His testimony was certainly one of sincere and heartfelt gratitude for what he had learned through Mrs. Doris Evans, the consecrated and dedicated practitioner at the Plainfield Church at the time he joined, how he learned he was part of a powerful Army whose sole purpose was to destroy the beliefs of the carnal mind (the Adam Dream) which has held the world in bondage. His gratitude for the enlightened thought and all that he has continued to learn through this church and Mrs. Eddy’s pure teachings of Christian Science was palpable, you could feel it in your own heart.
In summing up, I mentioned to my daughter the importance of listening to these readings and she said, “Mom, I have listened to them three times this morning”; this was prior to her going to work; THIS was the impact it had on her as well.
I continue to be grateful for God’s directing me to this church, it has changed my life and has helped me in ways beyond measure in my sincere desire to grow and progress in Christian Science; I cannot imagine my life being without it. It is truly a beacon light to the world.
