Overcoming temptation

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

Thank you for the new posting on your Carousel, “Enduring Temptation.”

Mrs. Eddy writes, “The ark indicates temptation overcome and followed by exaltation.” Science & Health 581:13
I’ve found that experience to be a joy beyond words.

“Blessed is the man that endureth [overcometh] temptation: for when he is tried, [proved faithful], he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.” (James i. 12.) S&H 267:28, last sentence in the Creation chapter

Could it be that we receive “the crown of life” each time when in our footsteps of truth we experience those beautiful times of “temptation overcome and followed by exaltation?”

I am so grateful, Plainfield friends, for all your sharing, and for letting me share — hearts united, Love reflected in interchange of love.
