Persistence

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

“…her continual coming she weary me. …And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? …Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” Luke 18

This story spoke to me more clearly of persistence and patience and its reward for the elect (obedient) because of our classes at Plainfield that reiterate the need for persistence, honesty, and faithfulness. On Feb. 17th, 2019 there was instruction to be constant and practice daily, well, what you know of Truth. The definition of persistence says it can be used for good or evil. So I reasoned this morning that if I am not persistent in the things of God, good then I am persistent in the things of the devil. Where will my faith be found?

    From the Websters 1828:

FAITH- To draw towards any thing; to obey; an affectionate practical confidence in the testimony of God.

Faithful- Constant in the performance of duties or services; exact in attending to commands; as a faithful servant.

Persistence- Firm or obstinate continuance in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition: steady pursuit of what is undertaken; perseverance in a good or evil course.
