Plainfield Roundtable 3/5/17

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

Much gratitude for today’s Roundtable on our week’s subject of Man: making many significant points about right living, unselfishness, warning about the tendency to attribute an error to another which is actually in oneself, humility.

I find it useful to define “me” or “myself” (or oneself etc) as follows, rather than the small version of “me” which we seek to displace:
Question. — What are the demands of the Science of Soul? Answer. — The first demand of this Science is, “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” This me is Spirit. Therefore the command means this: Thou shalt have no intelligence, no life, no substance, no truth, no love, but that which is spiritual.
