Pond and Purpose – Miscellaneous Writings

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

Thank you for practitioner support for handling a false claim of light-headedness
    this week.

I’m so thankful for the healing, and guidance to read Pond and Purpose.
(Misc. Writings, p. 203-207) It was just the remedy needed as I’d yet to study
what Mrs. Eddy had to say about baptism.

Mrs. Eddy so beautifully explains the three phases of spiritual growth that will occur
in Christian Science baptism. A wonderful study. Here is a glorious quote on the last one.

“The baptism of Spirit, or final immersion of human consciousness in the infinite
ocean of Love, is the last scene in corporeal sense. This omnipotent act drops the
curtain on material man and mortality. After this, man’s identity or consciousness
reflects only Spirit, good, whose visible being is invisible to the physical senses…”

“…The encumbering mortal molecules, called man, vanish as a dream; but man born of
the great Forever, lives on, God-crowned and blest.

Mortals who on the shores of time learn Christian Science, and live what they learn,
take rapid transit to heaven,– the hinge on which have turned all revolutions, natural,
civil, or religious, the former being servant to the latter, — from flux to permanence,
from foul to pure, from torpid to serene, from extremes to intermediate. Above the
waves of the Jordan, dashing against the receding shore, is heard the Father Mother’s
welcome, saying forever to the baptized of Spirit: “This is my beloved Son.”

What comfort and peace come from Mrs. Eddy’s assurance to keep on rising higher. The
victory is well worth it. Persevere, do your best, and God will do the rest. Amen.

Thank you, Plainfield Church for all the tools you provide for the world to awaken.
The weekly study groups, the church services, testimony meetings, website, music, and
    practitioner support!

    Joyful blessings,
    Rae
