PRESUMPTUOUS – THE GREAT Transgression

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

PSALMS 19:13 Keep back thy servant also from PRESUMPTUOUS sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from THE GREAT TRANSGRESSION

PRESUMPTUOUS: Bible Hub’s various translations: deliberate, flagrant, willful, arrogant, premeditation, purposely, maliciously, defiantly.
Dictionary:(of a person or their behavior) failing to observe the limits of what is permitted or appropriate. “I hope I won’t be considered presumptuous if I offer some advice”.
saying or doing something without right or permission. unwarrantedly or impertinently bold; forward.
    brazen • overconfident • arrogant • egotistical • overbold • bold • audacious • pert • forward • familiar • impertinent • fresh • free • insolent • impudent • cocksure • cheeky • rude • impolite • uncivil • bumptious • overhasty • hasty • premature • previous • precipitate • impetuous • cocky • sassy • presumptive • assumptive

THE GREAT Transgression: I ask myself, what is THE GREAT Transgression?
Bible Hub: most translations leave out the word “THE”… but it is that word “THE” that makes me wonder… What is “THE” GREATEST Transgression? Murder? Having another god? Pride? Malpractice?
Bible Gateway simply shows – blatant rebellion, much wickedness, great offense, big sins. But I still ask myself, “What is THE GREATEST sin?”… (speaking in the relative) Does anyone want to enlighten me?
