Roundtable data

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

During Sunday’s Roundtable a testimony of an immediate and profound healing of alcoholism and smoking from the March 24, 1928 issue of the Christian Science Sentinel was read. I remembered that the practitioner involved was Doris Dufour Henty, C.S. of England.

Mrs. Henty wrote a book, Addresses and Other Writings on Christian Science, which probably is not well known. The testimony read also appears in Century of Christian Science Healing pages 84-86. In the foreword to Mrs. Henty’s book is included a sentence or two referencing the testimony there.

The foreword to her book also states that on learning of Christian Science, shortly after Mrs. Eddy’s passing, Mrs. Henty spent some time in Boston. It speaks of her own early healing with James Neal as practitioner, and learning many things from Laura Sargent and Daisette McKenzie.

Thought someone might be interested or want to include some of this information on the 10/4/2020 Roundtable page.
