Silencing material law and its order of generation

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

    The illumination of Mary’s spiritual sense put to silence material law and its order of generation, and brought forth her child by the revelation of Truth, demonstrating God as the Father of men.

    This sentence is filled with so much!

    The phrase “material law and its order of generation” shows how the human mind is constantly trying to assert itself: You need a man and a woman to have a baby; you need to work a job and then take the money you have earned to the store to buy the loaves and fishes, and even then will only have enough to feed a few people; you need to live your life being humanly good and then move forward to a heavenly “afterlife.” There are so many ways the human mind says “This is the way things are done” and “this is the best you can hope for” and yet Christian Science is little-by-little proving to me that is not how God’s reality works.

    That Mary was ready to have “material law” silenced through the illumination of her spiritual sense showed her receptivity and gives me more of an idea of all the work she was faithfully doing. She apparently was doing what is spoken of here in Plainfield: Uncovering error and handling animal magnetism – such as old theology, supposed heredity and gender limitations, and other prevalent beliefs – while expecting only good and understanding God is the only power.

    I am so grateful to learn a little more every day about how to “silence material law” and listen more intently to what God is telling me. Only Christian Science as is taught here has made this possible.

    What a wonderful lesson this is! Thank you!

    Thank you Jeremy for your post, proving once again that Christian Science is so exciting to contemplate…and live!
    I could not imagine having to accept old theology… it just makes no sense and leads to no logical conclusions as it is rooted in human mind conjecture.

    Ruminating in the human mind never brings satisfaction, or answers, but contemplating the wonderful revelation of the Christ Truth brought to us by Mary Baker Eddy, through spiritual sense, taking deep draughts of Truth in the Divine Mind, is so utter uplifting and healing! There is endless opportunity for new revelations of the Truth, which always lead to healing and progress.

    Goodbye material so-called law, hello spiritual regeneration!
