Spiritual Life

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

We have no right to say that life depends on matter now, but will not depend on it after death. We cannot spend our days here in ignorance of the Science of Life, and expect to find beyond the grave a reward for this ignorance. Death will not make us harmonious and immortal as a recompense for ignorance. If here we give no heed to Christian Science, which is spiritual and eternal, we shall not be ready for spiritual Life hereafter.
This is very important to me. Before coming to Plainfield Church, Independent and being raised in another denomination the belief clung to me that you didn’t have peace or deep understanding of God until after the experience called death of the body when your spirit is released. ” Acquaint NOW thyself with Him and be at peace.” Christ Jesus and Mary Baker Eddy give us all the tools we need to love and understand that our life with God is now…..and forever.

I agree completely! I’m so grateful for Mary Baker Eddy illuminating the fact that heaven, harmony, is a state of consciousness available here and now. I never could really believe the conventional christian outlook of physically dying into a perfect state. But through Mrs. Eddy’s guidance can see how we can ‘die’ out of material sense into spiritual consciousness, especially as one gains understanding and then not only physical ailments that have been a plague for ones entire (material) life, moral ones also ‘fall’ away through the better understanding of the God’s Word through Christian Science. The lessons taught at this Plainfield Church have been invaluable in this process. And one of the most important keys for me is the shared experiences through testimonies etc. of members who have shared their overcoming trials and ‘near death’ experiences that are way beyond some ‘mere’ personal traits I tried to change for decades with no success. So grateful for all teaching and sharing going on here and my greatest desire is to get it right so I can ‘pass it forward’ because there is so much need for this ultimate and only solution!
