Spiritual Progress

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

The discussion in today’s Roundtable regarding anxiety over one’s spiritual progress, was so helpful. I have to admit, I’ve been guilty of that lately. I had been feeling badly about the many years I had been away from this church, and was trying to play “catch up” with my spiritual progress. Thank you for the sense of peace and release this Roundtable discussion gave me. Always a blessing to tune in to these sessions.

Joanne, I have also spent years absent from my duties to God. I was mesmerized into believing that my existence was wrapped up in my little immediate material family. I allowed the responsibilities of home life to monopolize my thinking. I am grateful to have found Plainfield because their resources not only woke me up, but have given me so many different ways to incorporate Bible and CS study into my daily routines. I listen to the weekly lesson, rooundtable discussions, or Bible Studies every morning. Since I am a newcomer, there are so many to still catch up with. But mostly, I have recognized that God never stopped loving for me during that time and didn’t stop providing for me either. He loves me the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow bc NOW is all there is. His omnipresence has always included us! I am just grateful that I am seeing that again! 🙂
